Dr. Justine Miranda grew up right here in El Paso, TX. Initially she thought she wanted to be a nurse and went to the University of Texas at El Paso and graduated with a nursing degree.
While working as a pediatric nurse, it became apparent that not many of her patients understood the link between oral and systemic health. After several years of nursing, she decided it was her mission to help patients bridge the knowledge gap on how good dental care can help patients lead healthier lives.
She enrolled in the dental school at Roseman University of Health Sciences and earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. She graduated with many awards including the International College of Dentists Student Humanitarian Award and Distinguished Professionalism and Ethics Award.
From her pediatric nursing days, she knew she wanted to focus on working with kids. This way she could teach kids good oral hygiene habits that would last a lifetime.
Dr. Miranda combines her mom and dental skills to create a lighthearted environment that helps both kids and parents relax. She is armed with an arsenal of mom jokes that kids seem to find funnier than the adults. She also is quite fond of singing songs from Frozen and doesn’t take too much prompting to belt out a tune.
When away from the office, Dr. Miranda does not get much quiet time staying active with her husband, Daniel, and two young daughters. When she does get some alone time, she enjoys painting and yoga.
